Not so much

I haven't done so much lately.  It was a very busy week last week with my shifts all over the place and my birthday on Friday, then the St. George's Day Parade on Sunday.  So I didn't have many chances to do my stitching but I did manage to finish all of the black on page 7 Sunday evening before Once Upon A Time then added some new shading last night! Blue!! A new colour!

Day 47 - 30-4-13

Sunday 21 April 2013

Early week

I have just confused myself big time! I misread my last post so I mixed up all my dates! I hadn't realised I'd not uploaded last Saturday's work when I posted the blog and I was convinced I'd updated last Sunday.

Oh well, I'm straightened out now.  So Saturday I only managed to do a little of the confetti.  Sunday I managed to finish all the confetti and complete page 5.  I made a start on page 7 on Wednesday and yesterday I completed the back of the cat on the same page as well as making a start on its tail.  Today I did more on the tail and that's about it.

I wasn't able to do any on Monday where I started work at 7am, went straight to Cubs and didn't get home until gone 8.30pm.  Despite having the afternoon off on Tuesday I didn't manage to do anymore as I was too interested in my Once Upon A Time magazine! I think the same excuse followed for Friday.

This coming week I've got Thursday off so I may be able to get some more done then.  Friday I won't be able to as its my birthday and I'm going out after work.  Next Sunday is our local St George's Day parade and then I'm going out for lunch with my grandma.

But here's to another week.

7 days stitching

Hi all.  So I have still been stitching since Easter but I've not always had the time (or the energy! lol) to upload my posts.  So here's 7 days of stitching since then, having not stitched every day.

Day 33, 2-4-13
Day 34, 3-4-13
Day 35, 5-4-13

Day 36, 7-4-13
Day 37, 10-4-13
Day 38, 11-4-13
Day 39, 12-4-13

Tuesday 2 April 2013

Easter Monday

I managed to finish all of the star shade and the '+' shade as well as completing two or three confetti shades.
Day 32

Easter Sunday

I've slacked a bit on updates, but here's Easter Sunday's progress.  I got quite a bit done even though I was at church all morning then went to a friend's house for the afternoon.  When I wasn't eating dinner at her house, we were watching the Boat Race and things while I was stitching.
Day 31

Sunday 31 March 2013

Easter Saturday

I didn't get quite so much done as I did yesterday (well, Friday because technically I'm writing this on Sunday as I was out late last night) but I got another chunk done.

I had to stop as we went out in the evening to see a Queen tribute band.  They were very good.
Day 30
In other news, I got my nails done again! Loving the glitter!

Friday 29 March 2013

Happy Good Friday

I spent most of today working on this.  I was supposed to go to church this morning for the Good Friday service but my head was feeling fuzzy again (had a massive headache last night too) so I gave it a miss and just sat in bed stitching after my bath.

It's so gratifying to see such a large section in one go!
Day 29

Wednesday 27 March 2013

Blocking off

It feels so good to be doing large chunks rather than little bits here and there! Anyway, this is what I got done this evening while my dad and I watched National Treasure.
Day 28

Tuesday 26 March 2013

Morning off

I got far more done this morning before work than I did this evening.  After a trip to the store to get stuff for my lunch tomorrow and Thursday I was far too distracted by the TV to actually get much done! I did do some though.  Just not as much.
Day 27

Sunday 24 March 2013

Not so much

After my Safeguarding course this morning for Scouts, I got home and was pretty exhausted.  I managed to do another two shades before giving up for the night.  Especially when I realised that twice now I've attached a thread to do a single stitch then later on noticed that I'd tied it off after only doing half of it!

Day 26

Busy day

Yesterday's work was done after a lengthy morning out with my mum.  First I got up to watch the Malaysian F1 qualifying, then made a quick stop at the Scout shop to replace a badge I'd lost, then we went to Whitman Laboratories for the Estée Lauder outlet shop.  I bought myself a new DKNY perfume.  I'm partial to the Be Delicious range and bought the Sparkling Apple.

Anyway, from there we went to North Harbour Krispy Kreme to claim our free doughnuts (yum!)... after missing my exit on the motorway and having to go the long way back through Porchester!

From there we went to Segensworth for a few things in Argos.  Then to a friend of my mum to drop off a birthday present.  Then to a friend of both of ours for lunch.

After lunch I started on Cat.  I only managed to get three different shades finished though.

Day 25

Saturday 23 March 2013

Page 5, two shades down

I love afternoons off! Yesterday I managed to completed all the black and another shade too.  Most of the black was done at a friend's house then completed when I got home.  I think I may have made a start on another shade but, being Friday, Gibbs was distracting me again, especially with last night's episode!!

Day 24

Wednesday 20 March 2013

More black

And here's tonight's work while watching XMen 3 with my dad.  Tomorrow I'm not sure if I'll do any stitching when I get home as I'm starting work at 7am and won't leave until 7pm as we are having our parents' evening.  Needless to say I could be a little busy.

Day 23

Commence page 5

Sorry for forgetting to post this.  I did this work yesterday but went to bed a bit late.  As I'm doing early shifts this week I thought I'd update later on.  So here we go.

Black detail on page 5 begins.

Day 22

Sunday 17 March 2013

Page 6: Check!

An early start to watch the Australian Grand Prix, an hour's drive to get to Chidham for our Church's weekend away, a thoroughly wonderful time there with them until about tea time, then home again.  That took up most of my day.

Hence why all I did to Cat today was to complete page 6.  But here it is.  All done and how lovely it is to see red, orange and green amongst the black and tan shades.

This week I'm on earlies all week so I anticipate plenty of stitching time in the evenings; aside from tomorrow for Cubs, of course.
Day 21

Light at the end of the page 6 tunnel!

Well, turns out it was pretty productive yesterday, despite the fact that I got up really early for the formula 1 qualifying that was partially done then postponed until midnight!

I went to the Scout shop where we took less money than the day after it really snowed!! So needless to say I got plenty done.

In the afternoon I was at Tesco with the group bag packing but I was only up there for an hour and a half before I came home.

I got loads more done once I got home and because I was staying up for the qualifying I had plenty of time.  Completed another 12 shades!

Day 20

Friday 15 March 2013

Another four

So the morning off was productive.  As well as going to Asda in the rain to get milk, I also managed to fill in another two shades.

This evening after work I managed another two. Looks like the background and bones are practically finished.  Next up, leaves and petals.  Good job I'm at the Scout Shop in the morning.  I tend to get a lot done there!

Day 19

Wednesday 13 March 2013

Three! Three more!

All the late club children at work were gone before 6 today so I was free to go when the nursery closed! Woohoo!

I got home, had my tea, stuck on a DVD to watch with my dad while my mum was out, and managed to stitch all of three more shades onto page 6.

That's three more completed for this page.  And one of them even had several stitches together!

Day 18

I'm back!

I'm back! Well, sort of.  I'm not sure how much I'll get done this week as I'm supposed to finish at 6.30 every day, but as it's a late club at the nursery, I'm allowed to go as soon as the last one has gone, so we'll see.

Anyway, I've not been around much because last week I had tonsillitis so I wasn't really feeling up to much concentration work.  I have, however, still been stitching, sort of.

Before I went to my Cub sleepover at the beginning of the month, I took all the badges off my camp blanket in an attempt to rearrange them to fit new ones on.  The more I took off, the more I thought, I'll just take off that one, then that one, then before I knew it I'd removed more than 120 of the badges.

My blanket before I started to rearrange the badges

Just a small pile to sew back on then! There is nothing underneath these badges but more badges!

So I spent my time off sick and several evenings, and the weekend since, sewing them back on.  I still haven't finished, but I just felt in the mood to do a little to Cat.  And it was only a little, but it's another shade ticked off for page 6.
Day 17

Friday 1 March 2013

Distractions

I was planning to get a lot more done today.  I finished work at 12.30 today and went straight home.  From there I went straight out to the post office so mum could send some mail while I went to the chip shop to get my lunch! Yum!

I got home and had just enough time to eat my lunch then I was off out again to put some money in my brother's account for his birthday.  I got there to find the street spaces were full and I had no change for the car park, but didn't have enough time to find another street space and walk, so I went straight to my hair appointment.

After that I went straight to the other salon across town to get my nails done.

From there, I went home, then just as I sat down, went back out with my dad to try again to put the money into my brother's account.  He had change for the car park! Woohoo! Lol.

I finally get home again and it's almost 4.30-ish by now, but the little boy my mum childminds is still at our house.  I play trains with him for a little while and watch Fireman Sam.  I love Fireman Sam! Lol.

I went to get my sewing kit when he went home at gone 5.30, but then a friend arrived for a little while so I waited until she was gone before starting on my project.

I'd just gotten started and settled when mum remembered she wanted to go to Asda for the food shopping, so off I go again.

By the time I got home, the first of three episodes of NCIS had started, while rounded off with this week's new episode.

So, all in all, I managed to get another two shades done on this page in total.

Day 16

Off topic but I feel like a human again!

Not stitching, I know, but I just wanted to show off my nails and my hair cut!

Another one down

Apologies for the lateness of the post. I only got one shade done and this occurred on Wednesday. I was too tired to take the photo So I took it the next day to then update at work. I forgot. Oh well.
I'm currently at my salon, about to have my hair sorted. Finally! Then off to another salon to have my nails done. I'm gonna look like a girl again! Woohoo! Then more stitching when I get home.

Day 15

Sunday 24 February 2013

I can see!

I got my new glasses today.  I didn't realise how fuzzy the world was until I put them on.  Wow! What a difference!

I worked on Cat all afternoon pretty much.  Why is it, you can hold your project in your hand and you see a little bit of progress, it looks different, but it's not until you look at the photo you take that you start to see what all the shapes are?

I look at the fabric and I know what the bits are supposed to be but it just seems to be blocks of yellow-ish colour and blocks of black at the minute.  But looking at the photo I see the centre of the cat, I see the bones in its legs, I see the flower in front of it and the leaves behind it.  Kinda like with my dolphins I did previously, the Dimensions kit.  It wasn't until I looked at the photo that I could see the reflection patterns on their backs.

But anyway, I'm not sure I'll get much, if any, done tomorrow as it's a Cubs night.  But I've got two early shifts this week so perhaps I'll get more done then.  I've also got Friday afternoon off but I have appointments to attend to make me look like a girl again! Lol.  My hair has grown out far too much and I'm finally getting my nails redone.  I'm going to have acrylics put on but keep them short.  (I also plan to have them removed for May so I don't have to worry about them on camp! Lol)
Day 14

Filling in

Apologies for not posting my update yesterday, but I went out in the evening with some friends for a birthday and didn't get home until about 11.30pm and my bed was calling really loud!

But anyway, I managed to get quite a lot filled in yesterday.  I've been starting from the top left corner and choosing a symbol to fill that corner in, then continuing with that symbol until I've done all of them on the page.  Yesterday I got a symbol that covers large areas with lots of joining blocks.  Hooray!

I have a few things to do today after church, including getting my new glasses so let's see if that helps me see my stitching better later!
Day 13

Friday 22 February 2013

Gibbs... Say no more?

We apologise for the interruption.  Normal services will now resume.

Yesterday I was just far too tired to do anything, let alone stitching.  I was almost dozing off on the sofa at 7.30 and went to bed before my nightly dose of Gibbs had finished! Yes, that's right! I missed an episode of NCIS.

But tonight, with the granting of 1½hrs of toil (time off in lieu), I was able to come home, have a nice soak in the bath, finish my book and still get some stitching done... Well, that was until Gibbs came back on! I was alright to continue throughout the two episodes I've seen before, but at 9pm when the new episode started, that was it.  Stitching only occurred during the adverts.

And again, it looks from the picture as though I did hardly anything as it was a lot of confetti again.  I finished off another shade and was only a few stitches from completing another.  The length I was using ran out and I decided to call it quits and get ready for bed rather than start another.

But anyway, nice weekend to come.

Day 12

Wednesday 20 February 2013

Two more shades

I finished two more shades on page 6 today.  A lot of it was confetti again though so I'm not entirely sure you can see it in the photo.  So far the shades I've been doing are dark-ish ones around the edges of the black and really light yellow ones that don't show up much anyway, but it's getting there.  Looks like I actually have a full weekend to myself this week.  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my Scouting activities but it is nice to have some me time too.  So here's to more obvious shades in the near future!!
Day 11

Tuesday 19 February 2013

Slow progress

Morning off today.  Didn't do an awful lot.  I spent most of the morning tucked up in my bed because it was cold and I was playing a game on my laptop!

I did about an hour of stitching I reckon, possibly not even that because then we went out to town.  SubWay for lunch.  Yum.

After work I managed to get some more done once I'd finished my tea.  It felt like a lot of stitching but where it was a lot of single stitches all over the place it looks like hardly anything.  But hey ho, there are now three shades finished with on page 6!
Day 10

Monday 18 February 2013

310 page 6, check

I had the afternoon off today.  I think I may have done more of this project if I hadn't been chasing around after the weekend drama still!

Went to Asda to get my new TV.  Great, there it is on the shelf... Where are the boxes? So I go and ask.  "Oh that's sold out."  Seriously? Why no sold out labels or anything?!

I go to Argos, have to park in the pay and display car park.  Start putting my money in and it just takes it without accounting for it.  Again, seriously?! I only had enough change for the machine! Luckily some kind man gave me 5p to make it up again.  Whoever you are, kind sir, thank you!!

I go into Argos and pick up my TV.  Fantastic.  Need a lead.  I knew that would happen, that's fine... £25?! I don't think so.  Back to Asda.  Less than a tenner.  That's better.  So now it's all installed and things are lovely again.  I even managed to sort out the knitting the wire fairy has been doing behind my TV!

But anyway, project.  I worked on it for the remainder of the afternoon until I had to go to a Scouting friend's house to have another module signed off.  Success there, by the way.  15 down, 3 to go!
Day 9

Sunday 17 February 2013

Little progress

I was fully intending yesterday to carry on with this after returning from the shop and having lunch but things kinda blew up in my face after that and I spent most of the afternoon in bed in a bad mood.

I was attempting to put away my washing, which is difficult enough for me when I have no motivation.  I like to have background noise so I put a DVD on.  It was shaky and kept skipping.  Ok, my bluray player does that from time to time, so I tried one of my bluray discs.  Hmm, that message isn't good.  This disc cannot be played.  I'm pretty sure that's not right seeing as I've watched it loads.  Ok, so I haven't watched that one recently.  I'll try one of the others I know I've watched recently.  It loads, it stops, it loads, it stops.  This disc cannot be played.  Seriously?!

Luckily my brother paid me back some money I lent him at the beginning of the month so I bought myself a new player.  The one I had was an old one my brother gave me which he got from someone else so goodness knows how old it was! Less than £50, bargain! Good make, too.  I've heard of Sony.

We go to install it and my TV is so old the connections are wrong.  This is a bit too much for me by this point.  We've tried everything! Looked for adapter wires, no luck.  Tried the other port, the wires don't fit.

So after all this I ended up in bed, blocking everyone out and hiding under the covers playing a game on my laptop because it kept my hands warm!

In the end, dad unhooked their DVD player from downstairs and put it in my room for me so I can at least watch my DVDs if not my blurays.

Anyway, today was a different story.  After church we went straight into town to get my glasses.  I'll be picking them up next Sunday.  I chose purple ones (fancy that, I hear from people who know me!!)

I played on my game again for a little while then went back downstairs to watch some DVDs with mum and dad while I did today's work on Cat.  Dad had to go and get the player and put it back downstairs again then return it to my room when we were finished with it downstairs.

So, anyway, all in all, an eventful weekend for mostly the wrong reasons.  Tomorrow I have the afternoon off and I'm going to Asda to buy a new TV and an HDMI wire so I can actually have some things that work for me! Lol
Day 8

Saturday 16 February 2013

Productive unproductiveness

The Scout shop was practically dead this morning.  We were lucky to have maybe 5 separate customers and a couple of visitors.  Unproductive for the shop.  Productive for me.  I got loads done! I think I may have done a little more too if it hadn't been so cold in the shop!!

I did just have a mini panic when I laid it out to take the photo.  The gap above the current block is a lot bigger than that below.  Oh no! I've centred it wrong! So I check the chart.  Phew.  The bottom pages are a small segment and not a full block.  Crisis averted!
Day 7, Scout shop

Four edges, page 6

I only did another small portion last night and spent a long time fiddling with my phone inputting the dates of all the practices, qualifyings and races of this year's Formula 1 calendar into my phone calendar.  I also watched the latest episode of NCIS so I had a lot of distractions getting in my way!

But despite all that, I managed to get to the bottom of page 6 so I now know how big each section will be roughly.

I also managed to make a boo boo.  That little line at the bottom took more than one length.  It was after tying off and starting a new length that I realised I had been doing the wrong column of stitches! Nooo! Lol. I managed to salvage without having to unpick the previous thread simply because I'd missed a column out.  I just edited around it.  Then after getting almost as far as you see in the picture, I realised I'd missed one teeny tiny lonesome stitch to the left of that column! Darn it! Oh well, it'll have to be added later now.

Anyway, I have to be at the Scout shop in half an hour and I'm still in bed in my pyjamas so I'd better get up and get ready.  Being the beginning of half term I wonder just how busy it'll be in there so I may get lots done this morning, I may not.  Watch this space!
Day 6

Thursday 14 February 2013

No meeting means more stitching

After a little break for a meeting with my Scout Training Adviser yesterday, I did some more today.  I wasn't going to as I was supposed to have a staff meeting tonight, but it was cancelled.  Yippee! And there isn't a staff meeting next week either because it's half term.

It's only a little bit more, but a little is better than none.

Day 5

Tuesday 12 February 2013

Edges, page 6

I did a little bit of work this morning before we went shopping, then again this evening once I'd gotten home from visiting a friend who's broken her ankle.

So anyway, I had to pull apart the chart book to find the edges.  It's fun trying to balance them because I like to sit curled up which means I get stiff which means I have to fidget which means the pages slip and slide!! So trying not to drop them was fun.  But despite all that, I managed not to lose any pages and I've reached the top, left and right edges of page 6 now.
Day 4

Monday 11 February 2013

After the dentist...

9.05am.  Seriously?! 9.05am!? What a horrible time to go to the dentist to have an injection for two fillings.  Yeah, turns out I only needed one injection which I found awesome.  One is better than two in this case!

But anyway, as soon as I got home, and once I'd had a nice hazelnut hot chocolate, I picked up the kit.  I now see what people mean about the sheer volume of 310 that occurs! That's all I stitched today.  I found it quite nice just doing large blocks of one colour.

I worked on it all day aside from when I had my lunch and tea, then when I left for Cubs this evening.  So a pretty productive day.
Day 3
